Outnumber & Outflank the Defense
The three formations featured in this playbook are designed to create alignment conflicts for the defense. Big plays often result from defensive misalignments—when they are outnumbered or outflanked. Executing a direct snap provides an additional blocker, as there is no traditional quarterback. Two of the formations use a balanced line with an unbalanced backfield.
This structure allows you to effectively attack both sides of the formation. If the defense overcommits to the backfield strength, you can exploit the opposite side. Multiple wingbacks offer additional blocking support at the point of attack and create several options for wrap plays in the opposite direction.
Structured System
These plays are designed to complement one another, creating a cohesive offensive system. If the defense over-shifts or overcommits to stop one play, a complementary play will exploit the weakness. Awesome bundle. I used the diesel formation last season and it was by far our best formation. The play-action passing game was low-key nasty. Don’t sleep on that. The Blast, sweep, and GH Counter were our best plays out of it.
