Single Back Formation Power Run Concept

Single Back Formation Power Run Concept to the TE/WB Flank is really tough for defenses to defend. The 3-man blocking surface with the Wing creates alignment conflict for the defense- gives you angles & number advantage at the POA. If the defense doesn’t adjust perfectly, you’re going to outflank them and gain easy yards.

C: Step play-side, base the N.
RG: Inside-Over-Free. You can also have the RG double the N with the Center.
RT: Double team DT with Y. You can have the Y combo off- especially if they shifted linebackers. However, I prefer to stay on the double team.
LG: Pull, wrap for play-side linebacker (S).
LT: Down block (replace pulling guard)- no inside threat fan block.
Y: Double team DT with RT.
H: Cheat alignment in and up- kick out defensive end- aiming point is the inside hip- run feet through the block.
Note: If the backside defensive end is chasing hard down the line of scrimmage, run boot.
X: Stalk block the CB.
S: Now Screen.
T: Take handoff, aiming point is the inside foot of the Y.
QB: Take snap, hand to the T, carry out boot fake to the left. If the defense doesn’t adjust to the S you can have the QB take the snap and throw it out there.
