The Strong Safety Blitz out of the 3-3 Stack Defense is designed to attack the offense from the wide side of the field. You can also execute this blitz to the strong side of the offense’s formation. Pre-snap, the defense will show a 2-high look then once the QB begins his cadence, the strong safety (SS) rolls down. This blitz is very difficult to block and the slanting defensive linemen will give you a free rushing linebacker.

Coaching Points
- Defenders must maintain their base pre-snap alignment until the QB begins his cadence. This will ensure that the offense can’t get a pre-snap read. Make the offense have to react, rather then give them time to recognize the blitz (pre-snap).
- This blitz needs to be execute to either wide side of the field or to the strength of the offense’s formation.
- You have the option to play man to man coverage behind the blitz as well.
